Maxwell DeMille on the Air poster

MAXWELL DEMILLE
ON THE AIR

Coming to you by electronic radio transmission from the glittering heart of old Hollywood - the Metropolis of Make Believe - where the ghosts of great ballrooms still tap their feet, and the night always begins with a melody.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Each week, Maxwell DeMille guides listeners through the twilight of swing, style, and nearly true stories - where the music of the 1940s opens doors to remembered nights, legendary rooms, and the moments that linger after the applause fades.

Part radio broadcast, part time machine, Maxwell DeMille On The Air is an hour-long invitation to pull up a chair, lean in close, and let the music do the talking.

CREATIVE TEAM

Stanley Sheff
Writer - Director

Stanley Sheff is a veteran radio and film writer, director, and producer whose work spans comedy, long-form radio, and cinematic storytelling.

He is best known as the co-creator, co-writer, producer, director, and on-air performer of The Young Marquis and Stanley, the influential two-hour comedy program heard on KROQ-FM from 1977 to 1983. During its run, the show became one of the station's most beloved productions, generating more fan mail than any other program on the air.

Following KROQ, Sheff worked closely with Orson Welles as editor, collaborator, and uncredited co-director on The Orson Welles Show, Welles's final completed project, continuing a tradition rooted in Mercury Theatre on the Air and author-driven broadcasting.

His work emphasizes voice, atmosphere, and listener imagination - treating sound not as accompaniment, but as architecture.

Rick Marcelli
Producer

Rick Marcelli is an entertainment entrepreneur whose career spans television production, personal management, record production, music publishing, music video production, and development executive roles with CBS, William Self Productions, and other major industry entities.

Born and raised in Hollywood, Marcelli has spent a lifetime in show business, working across nearly every sector of the entertainment world. He has executive produced television programs in the United States and internationally, including projects for the FOX Network in association with Dick Clark Productions, as well as productions for ITV and the BBC in England and New Zealand.

Marcelli has created major promotional and branding campaigns for entertainment figures and political organizations, and collaborated with a two-time Academy Award winner on specialized training films for law enforcement agencies.

He has served as Second Vice President of the Conference of Personal Managers and is a member of the Story Analyst Guild, AFTRA SAG, the Producers Guild of America, and the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is also an FBI InfraGard member and an FBI Citizens Academy Alumni (FBICAAA).

Robin Bragg-Marcelli
Producer

Robin Bragg-Marcelli brings extensive executive, civic, and emergency management experience to her role as producer. Her career includes senior budgetary and management positions at UCLA, where she managed multiple UCLA Extension off-site campus facilities.

She is a UCLA alumna with a Certificate in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and has been trained and licensed (not active) as both an Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Room Technician. She has also served as a volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps.

Bragg-Marcelli devoted sixteen years to the Los Angeles Fire Department CERT Program as Battalion 14 Coordinator, is an FCC licensed amateur radio operator, and volunteered with the LAFD Auxiliary Communication Services.

Her public service includes membership in FBI InfraGard and FBICAAA, volunteer service with the LAPD Van Nuys Division, and leadership as Vice President and Safety Committee Chair of the North Hollywood West Neighborhood Council. She has also served as an Ambassador for the City of Santa Monica and its sister cities in Mazatlan, Mexico; Hamm, Germany; and Fujinomiya, Japan.
